Andréa Huguenin Botelho is a German-Brazilian conductor, researcher, composer and pianist, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and living in Germany. She holds a Master's degree in piano and orchestral conducting from Georgia State University in the United States, a postgraduate degree in piano performance from the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in Germany, a specialization in opera conducting from the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, and a Bachelor's degree in music - piano performance from the University of Rio de Janeiro - Uni-Rio, in Brazil.

Recognized for the magnetism of her interpretation on stage, she occupies a prestigious place in international music. She leads several Brazilian music initiatives as well as performances and conducting workshops. Her production is also seen off stage, in the intense research and commitment of her work in the field of women in music, to establish the space of women composers and the equality of women's rights in conducting.

In addition to her intense work in music as a teacher, in concerts and in research, the innovation of educational projects that promote interculturality between Brazil and Germany is a constant element of her work. A good example is the creation of the first bilingual German-Portuguese children's choir Curumins in Berlin in 2016.

The program Brazilian Music, which takes place at the Staatliche Musikschule Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, exists with great impact throughout Germany. Since its conception in 2016, it constitutes an environment for the dissemination of Brazilian music, for the first time in a public music school in this country. Andréa Huguenin Botelho's activities promote artistic and educational projects and inspire works on gender issues in music.  In Germany, she is currently a reference in multicultural topics and a representative of women in music, especially for Latin America.

She currently works as a conductor in Berlin, Germany, as the artistic director of the Brasil Ensemble Berlin and the Ayabás Chor Berlin, in addition to independent work with orchestras and pedagogical work. As a researcher, she focuses on music and gender and is pursuing a doctorate in history and cultural studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, focusing on the Brazilian conductor and composer Joanídia Sodré.

In the field of women in music, Botelho helps to coordinate the International Symposium on Women Conductors, collaborates with the Archiv Frauen und Musik in Frankfurt, is a member of the Women Conductors Working Group of the Internationaler Arbeitskreis Frauen und Musik e.V., and is a member of the Ambassadors Group of the Donne Foundation, Women in Music, founded by Gabriella di Laccio.

In 2023 she works as a curator at Schloss Britz in Berlin, hosting a series of concerts dedicated to women composers under the title "Komponistinnen - eine Spurensuche".
