WOMEN IN MUSIC

While focusing my studies and research on musicology, I am increasingly aware of what it meant to be born at the same time as the beginning of feminist studies in music, in the 1970s, which were influenced by the second wave feminism.

I revisit my biography and realize that my story is part of that story. My accomplishments were not just mine own - they were a result of opening doors. The problems I pointed out were not faced just by me. My training as a teacher and pianist brought significant revelations. Today I see what I couldn’t see before, and I owe it to feminist musicological studies.

The Women in Music Project, created by me in 2020, seeks to reduce the discrepancies towards women in the musical environment, which are still numerous today.
